Meet Brian Beck.
Brian Beck is a force of nature. He is a Lawyer, car mechanic, piano man, pizza chef, photographer, writer, picker, grinner, lover & sinner! Father of two and makes the best cherry cobbler I ever ate (before I was plant based of course).
At 45, he decided to take a career sabbatical to slow it down, spend some quality time with his wife & kids, and think about what the second half, both personal & professional ought to look like. He travelled extensively, got in shape, got in style, fine tuned his mojo, and now he is starting a fantastic new adventure as General Counsel to Lending Club Advisors, a tech start up in San Francisco.

For those of you who like a bold summer shirt, please ditch those Hawaiian shirts that are so thick and stiff and rather opt for something like this short sleeve shirt from All Saints. I really can’t emphasize the importance of updating your man’s jeans! Try to get him into a straight leg, fitted jean (ala a skinny jean, but don’t tell him that). Remember I didn’t say Ultra skinny Jeans! He’s not Harry from One Direction. Don’t worry, I don’t expect him to be in jeggings next time, but try different brands. I like J Brand -Tyler or Kane (Ave build, bigger thighs), AG Protégé (bigger guy), Paige-Jarvis (slimmer legs). Point is get rid of the Old Fashion SAG.
Swim in Style
This summer, be sure to have a fun pair of swimming trunks. I generally like Hurley. They have a nice band that fits over the tummy, their prints are fun and they are not too short. I also like Ted Baker’s polo shirts for something with a bit of a twist,
The Right Shirt
Classic is a bigger fit, but can be a bit too puffy when you are going after that leaner more Euro look.
Contemporary is slightly slimmer in the body, less fabric and also sleeker arms. Sometimes, if you have a 16” neck in the classic fit, you would be a 16.5” in the Contemporary.
Kim’s Tip: Many of my clients work out and tend to have bigger shoulders, but like a more fitted body in their shirt. So a 16” neck might fit their neck, but 15.5” fits their body better. Don’t be afraid to get a 15.5 inch shirt and move the neck button ½ “.
Slim fit is for skinny guys.
Personally, I like the simple fold with just a little bit sticking out.
I also suggest a fun sock under your trousers especially with brown shoes, like these ones from Gordon Rush
Shhhh....it's not a purse
