Back away from the plaid shirt...
I have seen you in your comfy plaid shirt (great for nursing) with jeans and your running shoes. Need I say that running shoes are for running and not going about your day.
When you haven’t had sleep and you have no time for make up, opt for a solid darker color button down shirt with a brighter color jean and a pair of cute sneakers.
If you are going to use a back pack, please find a slightly more stylish one, like this leather one from Baggu.
When stripes don't cut it, try a pretty print instead.
However, stripe tees don’t really do anything for you, when your hair needs a wash, your pants might have a stain and you have dark circles under your eyes. Swap out your striped tee for a slightly more stylish T-shirt. It doesn’t have to be designer, but something that has an interesting print.
Soooo many cute sandals out there!
One signature piece can do wonders.
All T-shirts are not created equal.
Put those yoga pants away and try this instead.
Now….there are some really fabulous gym outfits, but they are for the gym or the yoga studio. They are not going to empower you, nor give you energy, nor make you feel good about yourself. They are more likely to make you feel guilty because you actually didn’t make it to the yoga studio or the gym or remind you that you don’t look as good as the 27 year old that was on the treadmill next to you!
So, I ask you, wear your gear to the gym and then put a top over your work out pants and switch out your running shoes for a pair of shoes. That way, you will feel feminine and slightly better equipped for the rest of the day.
Step up your casual dress game.
Opt for a well cut dress, like this linen dress. I can literally wear it with a pair of sandals in the week, or a pair of heels to a fundraiser or even add a jacket.
