"Life Is short. Be present. Be engaged. Enjoy the journey." ~ Dr. Li Huo
Tell our readers a little about yourself and why you became an OBGYN?
I immigrated to this great country of United States at age 8 up & grew up in the mid-west. For as long as I can remember I had wanted to become a doctor to help people and cure them of sickness. With a lot of hard work and perseverance, I completed the 12 additional years of schooling after high school and made my childhood dream into a reality.
As I rotated through the different specialties in medical school, it became abundantly clear that I wanted to care for women and empower them. I felt that it was an honor to educate and de-mystify the complex changing bodies of young women, then to help guide women's choices during their reproductive years, and lastly to be a confidant providing guided remedy and comfort as age and disease affect all.
When you think of the word “successful” who’s the first person who comes to mind and why?
Steve Jobs- I can see his impact on our lives every minute of everyday affecting everyone and how we do things. I remember watching the Jetsons cartoon as a little girl and thinking about how cool it'd be if I can see the person that I'm calling. And since a few years ago, that is a reality!! Technology and where it's taking the human race boggles my mind.
Why did you decide to change the focus of career?
Discovered a way to improve quality of life for women with particular conditions who couldn’t be helped with surgery or medication or lifestyle modification.
ThermiVa was recently voted by NewBeauty as one of the top 8 game changing products (procedure) that will give you results!
It's a non-surgical in-office procedure using radiofrequency energy to heat vulvovaginal tissue causing tightening of the tissue, increasing collagen production, increasing blood flow and thus restoring vaginal health. This no downtime, painless procedure allows you to resume intimacy the same day. Three treatments are required to experience its effects. Each treatment lasts less than 30 minutes.
Treats conditions such as vaginal dryness, painful intercourse from dryness, vaginal looseness, urinary incontinence, decreased sensation. To learn more, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

What are you passionate about? Women's rights, health, fitness, anti-aging trends, very delicious foods!
What is your favorite anti aging skin routine?
Vitamin C (30%) lotion/serum from Revision applied daily under sunscreen for added production against sun and environmental damage. Personally, I have used some form of vitamin c on my face for the last 20 years and believe strongly that it protected my face from significant sun damage and aging.
What have you found to be a waste of time when it comes to skin care/anti aging? Toners!!! Haven't used a toner for 15 years and clearly my skin was not affected in the least bit. I personally think it's a marketing scam.
What purchase of $100 or less has most positively impacted your life in the last 6 months.
I'm always looking for a great lip balm. I've tried many. And I've discovered the medicated Blistex in a little blue jar is the best lip life saver! It's the best $2 dollars I've ever spent!
What book have your reread or is your favorite?
I have so many 'favorites'. Depending on my mood, I like different favorites. Fiction-'Me Before you' by JoJo Moyes is amazing! But get your tissue box ready.
Non-Fiction '32 Yolks'- a memoir by Eric Rupert who is one of my favorite chefs.
What is your favorite book to gift?
'The life-changing magic of tidying up" by Marie Kondo for adults because who can't use a bit of de-cluttering?
'Echo' by Pam Munoz Ryan, a Newberry honor book. A beautiful read focused on family, love, diversity, tolerance, music and history! Written for pre-teen kids. I had picked out this book for my son but found myself reading the whole book in 2 days. A MUST read for every preteen and adult too!
What is the worst advice you see or hear being dispensed in your world?
The need for perfection. You must be the perfect mom and wife with the successful career. Don’t forget you also have to be in great shape and cook amazingly tasty healthy meals while making sure your kids are the best at everything! Such unrealistic expectations. We need to be forgiving of ourself and others. We also need to give room for failure to ourselves and our children. How else do we learn and grow?
It'll all be ok. Slow down and enjoy the present.
Do you have any fav blogs that you follow?
Instagram: evachen212. I feel like she's my long lost sister who ended up in fashion or my alter ego had I chosen a different path.
Any ask or request for my audience? Last parting words? Life Is short. Be present. Be engaged. Enjoy the journey. Lastly, it’s never to late to follow your heart and passion.
